This is what “Rescue” is all about!
Xena is 13 years young (approx. DOB 7-11-07), female, 45 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Xena and her family were found inside a home where their owner was admitted to the hospital for COVID. Someone had mentioned they thought there were animals in the home although they did not get out much. These pups were clearly neglected for quite some time and the shelter was going to put them down. We screamed no way! We rescued them and got them out of the shelter so they could begin getting medical care and start their recovery! Xena was brought to the shelter at 20 lbs! She is now 45 lbs. Her skin and fur have healed tremendously in the 3 months on foster care! It is amazing what a little love, time, TLC, quality food, and a vet visit can do! Miss Xena is good with other dogs and tries to initiate play with them often; also good with cats. She would do best in a home with older kids and not alone most of the day. She is low-medium energy and walks well on leash. She is slowly working on basic commands and is potty trained. Xena is a big chewer!! She is a very playful and silly girl!
Stay tuned for more information as Xena is a new rescue!
