Quick Count Bottle Redemption will be hosting a charity bottle drive for Passion 4 Paws during the months of June, July and August! Drop your redeemable cans and bottles and just let them know you'd like the proceeds to benefit Passion 4 Paws. They will throw in an extra cent for a total of 6 cents per can!

Meet Griffin: Our Pup of the Month! Griffin is just over a year old, male, 36 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered and micro-chipped. He is crate-trained, quiet, likes car rides and chewing on bones! Griffin is a shy, fearful dog in new situations with new people; he would benefit from having another low-energy, balanced dog to help build his confidence.

Griffin loves his crate; it is his safe space. He will nap inside when no one is home and enjoys chewing bones there. Griffin is a very sweet boy, but may not do well with children's energy and lack of predictable moves. No cats!

Griffin is currently enrolled for Board & Train at MotoDog. He will need an experienced home to land in afterwards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced dog owner to work closely with an amazing trainer and increase their skill level. This training program will be sponsored by Passion 4 Paws.

BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR SOME BEAUTIFUL NEWS 💕 “We are ready to make Casey's Adoption official! We went from not being sure how to make life work with her, to knowing we can't make life work without her." See, there was the puppy named Casey; she was rescued with her siblings Memphis & Savannah in December of 2018. She arrived to her Foster parents Meghan and Dustin on December 22, 2018. All puppies get adopted right?

We found out early on that Casey was struggling with luxating patellas AND degenerative elbow dysplasia. She couldn't walk normal without her knees popping out of place. This was not good news; as she was growing and could not be a normal playful puppy. Her joints were full of fluid from an immune system deficiency. She was in pain. She had to endure joint taps, xrays, pokes, and prods. She needed double knee surgery and another potential surgery after for her front legs. Oh...and we found out along the way that she is deaf.

At every adoption event our Team and her fosters were sad; nobody wanted her...she came with too much medical "baggage" even with our Rescue covering surgery (which we had to wait until she was 1 year old). Other dogs would get adopted and our Team and her foster parents would leave every event sad for her. It got to the point that Casey couldn't tolerate being at an event for the duration.

Meghan and Dustin never gave up on her. They saw her through her double knee surgery at Peak Veterinary Specialists in September of 2019. Post surgery care is not easy for a dog that cannot use her back legs. Meghan and Dustin were been by her side every step of the way. No one said fostering was easy, but Meghan and Dustin are by far what fostering is all about. Here we are almost 16 mos from the day you arrived still in foster, but a foster you are no longer!

Casey, we love you so much; you have taught us about life, empathy, patience, appreciation, compassion, and why Passion 4 Paws exists. Who knew that every time someone passed you over... it was because you were already Home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Meghan and Dustin for being Casey's heroes.

Jonathan was found as a homeless stray in North Carolina and his time was up, so Passion 4 Paws saved him because we knew that no one else would! Due to what we suspect may have been medical neglect or trauma from an early age, Jonathan developed a shortened radius bone, shorter than his ulna bone, which has caused an imperfect fit on the elbow joint (see photos). Corrective surgery is needed to remove a segment of Jonathan's ulna bone, in relation to the radius. This procedure is called an ulnar ostectomy and the sooner it is preformed, the better. The surgery will be preformed by Peak Veterinary in Williston, Vermont. If left untreated, it will generate further lameness and limb deformities.

This handsome pup is only 14 months old (approx. DOB 2-13-19). Per shelter staff he was "very easy to handle and wanted to say hi to all of the dogs when passing their kennels"! Per his foster, Jonathan is crate-trained, gets along with other dogs and likes to go for car rides. He is good with kids and knows Sit/Stay/Come. He's treat motivated and a quick learner!

Jonathan will be available for adoption once he has fully recovered from his surgery. He clearly has lots of love to give and happily recieve; he deserves a second chance at a healthy life in a loving forever home! Link in bio

Due to COVID-19, all upcoming fundraising and adoption events have been cancelled. Without community fundraisers, our rescue is losing vital financial support needed to continue our mission. Passion 4 Paws' volunteers, fosters, and rescue workers continue to help our four-legged friends in need. Shelters are full and we've transported over 50 dogs from in just the past 3 weeks!
