Ruger is 2 years old (approx. DOB 10-7-17), male, 61 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. We met this very handsome fella on our visit to the shelter in NC on 10-24-19. He came into the shelter as a homeless stray; being a homeless stray on the streets can be so very scary to a dog that to no fault of his own finds himself abandoned. Ruger is shy and fearful; but warms up with small tail wags and snuggling. Ruger will need encouragement, a calm voice, and another stable dog in the home to help build his confidence (he loves Snoopy). He appears to be good with cats.
