Roxy is 5 years old (approx. DOB 6-27-16), female, 37 lbs, vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Roxy is an owner surrender that we had saved from the SC shelter in 2017 and adopted out. They cannot keep her due to the baby’s developing severe allergies. Her family is devastated to surrender her however they have no choice after speaking with the doctors. Roxy is crate trained, loves to go for car rides, loves belly rubs, is potty trained, has medium energy, walks well on a leash (excitable when seeing other dogs), loves people, and does exhibit a prey drive so no cats please. She is insecure of other dogs but warms up to them with proper introductions. She is an expressive girl at times so apartments probably not a fit. She could live with another dog but it would need to be a dog that gives her space and is not pushy. She has a history of being possessive of her toys with other dogs but has not exhibited that behavior in over a year. She is now willing to trade up for a treat and hasn’t guarded anything for a long time. She has never been that way about her dog food. Roxy knows Sit, Stay, Lay Down, Paw, and Come. Roxy’s best home would be experienced, active, and would commit training time for her daily (she loves having a job). She would do best in a house with another calm dog or as a only dog. She loves her crate but would not want to be in her crate for more then 4 hours at a time as she is very active and wants to be participating with her family.
