Rocky fka puppy Teddy is 3 years old (approx. DOB 7-28-18), male, 60 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Rocky needs a Hero! This picture says a thousand words. He is a loyal companion looking for a fitting environment for his needs so he can be his best self, be content and happy. Rocky was adopted as a puppy and has been in the same home for 4 1/2 years! He is good with other dogs and currently lives with young children however we know he would do best in a quieter rural home without too much chaos which makes him very nervous. He needs to build a bond with a human/humans he can look to for guidance so he can just be a happy go lucky pup. He is a hound; he needs to get out for adventures, enrichment activity, and exercise using his nose to provide what his breed needs are to be balanced. Rocky will come with a training package if you are within 1 hour of Burlington VT.
Rocky is crate trained, loves car rides, has a prey drive (yes hound!) so no cats please, and has medium energy. Loud noises startle Rocky and he can get anxious in high energy stimulating situations. Rocky’s ideal home would be an experienced calm environment outside of a City or neighborhood dynamic; possibly single person or home-bodied couple with another dog as a companion. In a private area with not many outside triggers like cars or people. Stay tuned for more information as Rocky is a new rescue!
