Oscar is 3 years old (approx. DOB 3-17-17), male, 17 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Oscar was found homeless in NC and was brought to the shelter. He is nervous at first in new scary situations (not abnormal w small dogs), is good with other dogs, likes to have his belly scratched, is treat motivated, and is becoming more social. Oscar also seems fine cats (see video), no prey drive, loves to run outside but chills inside, scared of people, is crate trained, may be potty trained, and is quieter boy! Oscar would do best in a patient experienced home willing to allow him the time needed for him to trust and feel comfortable. Experience with fearful dogs a plus! We would say probably no small children is children can be perceived as unpredictable energy where a scared dog can feel threatened). Oscar should go to a home with another pup! Stay tuned for more information as Oscar is a new rescue!
