Oakley is 12 months old (approx. DOB 2-25-10), male, 40 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Oakley was found as a homeless stray in North Carolina. Per the shelter staff he is a very sweet dog, has good leash walking manners, and is not bothered by other dogs. He is very friendly; walks up to everyone with tail wags. Since arriving to Vermont we feel he would do best with another dog; his original foster home did not have another dog and he became scared and nervous. Oakley is thriving in a new foster home with 2 other dogs. He’s a goofy, happy boy that wants to be near his people and his four-legged foster siblings. Oakley is fed in his crate but otherwise apprehensive of being confined to his crate (he can be trusted to hangout around the house), potty trained, kid friendly, has medium energy, walks well on a leash, and does have a prey drive (no cats/small animals). Oakley would do best in an active, easy going home with at least one other canine sibling (good with kids too!). Although he’s only about a year old, he’s an “old soul” – very gentle, not destructive, and very much wants to make his humans happy. Stay tuned for more information as Oakley is a new rescue!
