GenderFemale
AgeAdult
BreedUnknown
LocationShelburne, VT
StatusAdopted

Layla is 4 years old (approx. DOB 1-1-17), female, 55 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. In her current environment Layla is good with other dogs, is crate trained, potty trained, and does exhibit a prey drive toward yard animals so best if she is not with cats. She has medium+ energy, knows Sit, Come, Heel, Wait, Lay Down, Gentle, Off, Leave It, No, and Backup! Layla does alert you when there is people outside and gets very excitable; her best home would be active, experienced, and not have too much stimuli out the windows. Layla is in a home with another dog but might enjoy being the center of attention to build her security!

“Layla wants nothing more than to love you and snuggle you. I have no need for a weighted blanket because I often have her laying on me to snuggle. She is the comedian in the house and has such a big, goofy personality. Her little feet like to dance, she snorts like a pig, and she loves to smoosh her face on yours. When she’s sleeping, she sleeps HARD and resembles a ragdoll. She’s a giant bed hog and prefers to lay on a people between her people. Layla is a smart one but likes to play stupid until there’s something delicious involved. Layla can be high maintenance at times but has a heart of gold and will give unending laughter and love. She does well with and catches on to routines quickly Layla would do well with another dog that is submissive and similar in size. She would do best with someone who can take her outside to play whether that be in a back yard or out on a trail. As much as she loves people and wants to be by your side, she is fine to be left home while her people are at work. She’d prefer to be left uncrated but will tolerate a crate if needed. Kids would likely be okay as long as they’re older, her butt wiggles and long tail can be deadly. She’s very much a dog that needs a couch to lay on.”
