Juanita is 5 1/2 years old (approx. DOB 1-24-15), female, 43 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. She has been a mama; we love our mama dogs! Now it’s her turn. Juanita arrived to the shelter in very bad condition; she was extremely thin and had severe skin conditions from poor diet and allergy reactions. 4 months later she is so much better as you can see from the shelter/before pictures in her thread! The home we choose will have another dog/s, be experienced, stick to her diet, and a where her people are home most of the time. Kids are a bonus (not too small because she is jumpy when she is excited). Her SC foster says: she loves other dogs, is good with kids (although likes to jump when she is excited so probably bigger kids), likes to ride in the car, does not exhibit a prey drive (may be good with cats), walks well on a leash, and is as sweet as can be! She does not like to be left alone so she will need a home with other dogs and humans that are home most of the time. She sounds like she is purring when she is snuggling! Juanita has food allergies that need to be taken very seriously or she will get very itchy, develop rashes, and be very uncomfortable. She is on Merrick brand No Grain Salmon and Sweet Potato. Juanita has a very happy, bouncy personality. She loves to snuggle and will follow her person to the ends of the earth to be by your side. She will lean against your leg while folding clothes and joyfully trot alongside you on your way into the kitchen. Stay tuned for more information as Juanita is a new rescue!
