Jasper is 14 mos old (approx. DOB 4-2-18), male, 40 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Jasper is good with other dogs, does not exhibit a prey drive, and is crate trained. This poor boy is shy; it takes him some time to trust his environment with change; he is very sweet! When he finally feels safe, he’s a goof ball!! He does great with men! He is still learning to be a dog…….but he’s a good one. Jasper likes to tip his food bowl over and eat off the floor……….. maybe because he ate off the ground most of his life. He was found as an severly neglected homeless malnourished pup weighing only 28 lbs! His caretakers in SC tell us Jasper likes to have social time (is very playful with his foster siblings) but he also likes his own spot he can go when he needs some quiet time. He goes to lay in his crate when he’s had enough social excitement. His current caretakers in SC leave the crate door open for him to come and go from the crate during the day and the crate is closed while they are gone. He loves his older foster kids just fine; he might not ask to snatch food from smaller kids hands at his level in a home given his past history of being emaciated (can work on that in his adoptive home to learn he won’t ever have to go hungry again.
