Duke is only 10 months old (approx. DOB 3-19), male, 9 lbs., vetted, is neutered, and will be micro-chipped. Duke is a product of “little dog syndrome”, over coddled, has had little training, and was turned into a 1 person dog. We do not believe he has had the training and socialization he needed since being bought as a puppy from a breeder. We received a message in desperation to help as Duke was scheduled to be pts at a Vet because he was only bonded to 1 person and was reactive to other people. Even if he was only bonded with 1 person we cannot fathom that is reason enough to put a dog down. We were also told he wasn’t good with other dogs but found out quickly that he is! He just hadn’t been socialized properly. We believe Duke’s best home will be with another dog or dogs so he can just learn to be a happy puppy with no “roles” and with Intermediate Dog training experience. Duke was introduced to a cat and did very well (more scared of the cat). A home without small children (children do not know boundaries and have unpredictable energy) and a fenced yard would be a bonus! Stay tuned for more information as Duke is a new rescue!
