Buster 2 years old (approx. DOB 9-3-19), male, 56 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Buster is good with other dogs and can’t wait for a new home to call his own! Buster was dropped off at the shelter because he was to big to play with the little dog in the home. He is potty trained, likes to run and play but he also likes to be loved on, has medium+ energy, is good with dogs, and has not been tested with cats. Surely he is even cuter thank these pictures with his red brindle and his nub tail! He is very social and not shy at all!

From his Vermont Foster:

Good with Dogs? Yes, loves other dogs
Good with Cats? No experience, but is very gentle with humans and other dogs
Has a prey drive? Not that we’ve seen, but he does love to catch a fly out the air
Good with smaller kids (mouthy, nippy, jumpy, chase, scared)? No experience.
Energy Level (low, low-medium, medium, medium-high, or high)? Low-medium
Scared of people or socially outgoing? He takes a minute to warm up to new people, but after he’s been able to smell you, he warms up. Low voices and treats help a lot when meeting new people.
Scared of men or no experience? Not scared of men.
Needs another dog in the home (if scared of people), ok as only, or either way? He’d do well either way, but he does love to play with other dogs.
Crate trained? Yes
Does he/she like the crate? Yes
Current amount of time daily left alone: He’s only been left alone for a couple of hours at a time. He does fine with time alone.
Potty trained? Yes
Chewer/destructive? He likes to chew on his toys, and will also chew on other small objects if they’re within his reach.
Separation Anxiety from people when left alone? No
Vocal? Buster will bark if he wants to come inside the house, but otherwise he’s really quiet.
Behavior on leash when walking near lots of people/dogs? Haven’t had him on a leash around a lot of other people or dogs, as we live in a rural community, but he does do well on walks on country roads. He stops when a car drives by, and gets back to it as soon as they’ve passed.
Concerning behavior: Buster doesn’t like to potty when he’s on a leash, but he’s getting better about it. He would do best with a fenced in yard.
Best in the busy City or rural calm or doesn’t matter? I don’t think it matters, as long as there is a fenced outdoor space for him to hang out in.
BEST IDEAL HOME IN YOUR OPINION? Fenced yard, hound lovers, someone who would like a lower energy dog that enjoys belly rubs lots of treats.
