Bubba Gump

Bubba Gump

LocationShelburne, VT

Bubba Gump is 8 years old (approx. DOB 7-27-12), male, 45 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Bubba Gump was at the shelter in desperate need of Rescue! He was found homeless with a large fatty lump on his side (since has been removed surgically at the Vet) and given his age was overlooked. Bubba is an exceptionally kind dog; calm and sweet and very good with people and other dogs of all sizes! He has not yet met cats. He is potty trained and great with kids; allows them to stand by him and pet him. At the shelter he was in the Adoptable section but people just kept walking by him because of the medical he needed – that’s when Passion 4 Paws stepped in! Bubba has lower energy but LOVES walks and when you ask him if he wants to go outside he gets so so excited. He can do about a half mile to a mile walk! He doesn’t pull and stays near you. He might whine a bit to go say hello to other dogs. He is happy to let people come to him and is very calm as they pet him. He walks through crowds easily and doesn’t bother anyone passing by. We discovered he loves to swim!

Per his SC Foster:

“Bubba would do best in a home where they take him everywhere and make him their constant companion. For instance, he has loved going to breweries and restaurants with us and simply lays down and enjoys watching people around him. He loves it when people come up to him and pet him and enjoys meeting other dogs. We took him to the mountains and he did very well in the vacation rental. He didn’t have any accidents and just jumped on the sofa and rested. We have also taken him to the lake where he loves swimming and to the busier streets of Charleston where he enjoyed trotting along and going in and out of shops. On two occasions he did vomit in the car so has gotten car sick but otherwise loves car rides. He would do well with someone who is home a lot and I don’t recommend him going where he will be alone all day. He would prefer sleeping on the bed with his human and curling up on the couch. Its important to note that he is not a velcro dog and will give you your space. He’s just happy being around humans. He’s a very adaptable dog and is so easy going that he would do well in any situations. He is an amazing dog and will be such a wonderful addition to a family or someone who is on their own. Bubba will be the bright spot of your day!”
