This is what “Rescue” is all about!

Alex is 13 years young (approx. DOB 7-11-07), male, 40 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. Alex and his family were found inside a home where their owner was admitted to the hospital for COVID in July. Someone had mentioned they thought there were animals in the home although they did not get out much. These pups were clearly neglected for quite some time and the shelter was going to put them down. We screamed no way! We rescued them and got them out of the shelter so they could begin getting medical care and start their recovery! Alex was brought to the shelter at 20 lbs! He is now 41 lbs. His skin and fur have healed tremendously in the 3 months on foster care! It is amazing what a little love, time, TLC, quality food, and a vet visit can do! He has lower than low energy, is good with other dogs but lets remember he is a grandpa, no prey drive so cats should be fine, does not need a crate, hates the rain and the dark! He would love retired couple or older man that he can follow. He doesn’t want adventure, just wants to be comfortable and loved!

From his SC Caretaker: Alex is a retired postal worker that is set in his ways, wants to piddle in the workshop or tinker with a car and go have a beer once a week at the VFW. Eats the same meal at the same time every day. Alex Is a man’s dog and would love to spend every minute at a man’s feet; he believes a women’s place is in the kitchen fixing dinner!

Stay tuned for more information as Alex is a new rescue!
