Sapphire is 19 months old (approx. DOB 2-10-19), female, 50 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Sapphire was found as a homeless stray in NC. She is a gem! she will sit for treats and take them gently; all she wants is attention and affection but most of all a family to call her own! Sapphire absolutely loves people and tested well with other dogs at the shelter however she seems to prefer being the center of attention. She has medium energy, is potty trained, crate trained (likes the crate), Sapphire knows Sit Paw, Down and getting better with recall every day! Missy is an amazing, very sweet and loving dog and she deserves the absolute best in her future home! Her ideal home would be in a rural setting with a family or individual with an active lifestyle who will take her on long walks, hiking, and has time to exercise her every day. A home with a fenced in yard would be a bonus (but not required) for her as she LOVES to run around in the yard, play fetch, and needs daily exercise. While Missy is by and large a very well-behaved dog, she needs someone experienced with dogs who will be consistent in her training, particularly with leash training and being around cars. he loves people whether on or off leash and wants to say hello to everyone. She did well when we took her on Church Street. With dogs, at most she will just whine, but she hasn’t been around a lot of dogs at one time while on leash.
